About my music,
songwriting, live performances and CD
recordings & online tracks...
I have worked with
rock, jazz, ceilidh, soul, and
Country & Western bands over the years, and I am sure all these
influences are evident in my writing. At the heart of each song is a
story and I search for new words and phrases to express the emotion and
tale. Some songs may touch on sad moments, but they usually end on a
positive note.
I play a selection
of guitars, but my favourite is an
acoustic guitar, made in Cornwall by Kif Wood. You can visit Kif's
website at kifguitars.com
I am enjoying
working with my friend Libby
Pentreath once more, and with Greg Dyer who accompanies our songs with
percussion and guitar.
We have
performed as Composed And
Collected
in West Cornwall including a gig at The
Story Cellar which
you can watch on YouTube.
We hope to record new
arrangements of our compositions later this year.
'Other
Mothers' Sons' - in support of 'Combat
Stress' & 'Surf
Action'
war veteran charities. The
song is full of
emotion expressing the artist's sadness after visiting military
cemeteries in Flanders, but moving through reconciliation and giving
hope for the future - lead by guitar with a beautiful violin
solo. Please email me
with any comments.
'Possibilities'
is an album of songs
drawing on my life experiences, performed in a variety of styles but
held together by guitars. Please
email me
with any comments.
